Use 1 Mandala Cake To Make This Triangle Scarf A follower over on the YHN facebook page requested I teach them how to make a triangle scarf. I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant at first because this style of a scarf isn’t my go-to style, but I am SO GLAD I did because I am in love with this design! I quickly got to work putting a pattern together and I absolutely LOVE the result! Below is the written pattern, but there will also be a printable PDF available for $2.99 from Ravelry. You will find a video tutorial on my YouTube Channel too. So be sure you check that out and subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss any of my videos. Triangle Scarf Video Tutorial: MATERIALS: 1 Cake of Mandala Yarn (or appr. 600 yards of a comparable yarn) 6.5 MM Hook Tapestry Needle Scissors FINISHED DIMENSIONS: 26 inches measured vertically (top to bottom) 58 inches measured horizontally (side to side) PATTERN NOTES: You will want to use the entire cake for this scarf. I will mention, when you get to the last color you will want to start making the picot edging so you don’t run out of yarn. If you wanted to make a larger size (like a shawl) you could add on another cake and it would be a perfect size! specialty stitch (MC) Mini Cluster: YO, insert your hook into the correct space. YO, draw up a loop. YO, pull through 2. YO, insert your hook into the same space. YO, draw up a loop. YO, pull through 2. *repeat this until you have 4 loops on your hook. YO, pull through all 4 loops. MC complete. PATTERN: CH 4 Row 1 – Work a MC (mini cluster) into the CH 1 space. CH 3. Work a MC into the same space. Turn. Row 2 – CH 3. Place a MC into the same space as the CH 3. CH 2. MC into the CH 3 space of the previous row. CH 3. MC again into the same CH 3 space. CH 2. MC into the top of the CH 3 of the previous row. Turn. Row 3 – CH 3. Place a MC into the same space as the CH 3. CH 2. MC into the CH 2 space of the previous row. CH 2. MC into the CH 3 space of the previous row. CH 3. MC again into the same CH 3 space. CH 2. MC into the CH 2 space of the previous row. CH 2. MC into the top of the CH 3 of the previous row. Turn. Row 4 – 32: You will continue the same process as row 3. Also make sure you make a MC into the same space as your CH 3 at the beginning of the rows. You will work a cluster in every CH 2 of the previous row. You will create your point by working a MC-CH 3-MC into the same CH 3 space. Then, you will end your row by placing a MC into the top of the CH 3 at the end of the row. EDGING specialty stitch (picot): CH 3 SL stitch to the bottom of your chain 3. Picot made. Row 33 – CH 3. SL stitch to the bottom of your CH 3. SC into the CH 2 space of the previous row. Picot in the top of the MC of the previous row. SC into the CH 2 space of the previous row. Continue this repeat all the way around. Tie off. Weave in your ends and you’re done!
